![]() Stator would still be my suspect, but since you have swapped stators (with a know working one), then we seem to be pointed towards connections from stator to CDI or towards flywheel or pulse coil (crankshaft position sensor), as mentioned above. The single spark you mention when turning off the bike is a common occurence, but it helps eliminate the coil as a likely issue. since the CDI supplies 12V to the starter relay only when it detects the proper neutral switch signal. I''d inspect and tweak as necessary, and hit them all with something like contact cleaner/lubricant from Radio Shack.Īs long as the engine tries to start when pressing the starter button (even when without spark), this tells us that the CDI is receiving 12V from the run/stop switch and is at least partially working. that said, first I'd inspect the bump and also loosen and then move the pulse coil as close to the flywheel as you can get it, without interfering with the bump as it passes by.Īlso make sure that all connector pins in the path between the stator and the CDI are all clean and tight - that the socket pins are not bent open (you can tighten with a small pair of needle noes) and that pins in both sides of the connector are fully inserted into their shells when mated. It is uncommon, but not unknown, for the flywheel to have issues - either the 'bump' on the outer circumference, that the pulse coil senses, can be damaged, or the magnets on the inner surface can be loose/damaged. unlike some who seems to suddenly be 20-30bhp down. ![]() I also back up everything i see on the chassis dyno with the engine dyno, so no BS, no Dream Figures! And a lot of the superbike and supersport bikes i do regularly go on the dynojet truck british superbike meetings and guess what, i'm always within a couple of bhp. Repeatability is exceptionally good now all year round. And yes i am very very particular about how the dyno is run, all conditions are closely monitored, wheel slip, coastdown taken into account, controlled sweep rates (not stock dynojet speed!) etc. I've mapped thousands of bikes and most of it race stuff. At best i've maybe seen 1 or 2 bhp but that depends on the rest of the motor, in fact some of my modified motors actually respond to ignition retard compared to stock depending on what i've done to the chamber and ports. It just has a bunch of other functions and the ability to mess with throttle translation. My experience of the UK bikes is the yec ecu makes no more power. I remember we had a bit of confusion over the wiring connection or something at the time and wasn't the bazzaz doing some weird shit too? ![]() Its important to look at the bigger picture.Ĭlick to expand.Yes i think i did try it but it was a long time ago. The amount I was able to pull on them was impressive. ![]() I won the 1/4 mile superbike drag racing this year over here, the bmw's were wasting there time, even ones throwing out 200bhp couldn't match me as I had midrange as well as top end. Tims motor is ultra smooth and easy to go fast with(as can be seen from my power graphs), no unwanted wheelies unless you just crack it opened in 5th gear:sneaky PHP 133,900.00 The Streetfighter Bike Scooter Ride easy, ride fun with Suzuki’s automatic motorcycles Be in style and get on the road Avenis PHP 79,400.00 Your Muscular Sporty Scooter Burgman Street PHP 82,400. Tim is great guy to deal with, I wouldn't deal with anyone else, its hard to find people that are real good at what they do. There is just power everywhere, guaranteed to bring a smile to your face everytime you hop on it. Tims motor has an unbelievable midrange its almost too much. Now thats just peak hp, that alot of people get caught up on, thats only a small area of the power curve that isn't used as much as the midrange. If you are talking peak hp figure I would say at least 15bhp thats 185+bhp with a system and pc3 (if you do work to other areas of the bike airbox, stacks, electronics etc the same motor will put out 197bhp I can guarantee that) What is the difference between Tims head and a stock motor? I have had 2 pm's from 2 different people basically asking the same question, it might be better to post up the answer here as I have been asked this before.
